The Ghillie Suit is a suit that is worn to provide the highest level of camouflage possible.  As opposed to regular ghilliesuits-at-work-300x201 When Do You Need a Ghillie Suit?camouflage, Ghillie Suits are significantly different; in the sense that Ghillie Suits are covered with burlap, jute webbing and with natural materials that are attached to the suit. This gives the Ghillie Suit a 3-Dimensional look and provides the illusion of human invisibility. Having used the Ghillie Suit myself, I have stood, laid down on the ground, squat near a bush,  and I’ve gone unnoticed - its actually quite fascinating!  Another reason to why you need a Ghillie Suit is that humans have a distinct scent to animals, and can sense when humans are nearby. Ghillie Suits are often treated and scented in mud, manure or a combination of both to eliminate your human scent.  If you ask any military personnel or snipers, they would tell you that without the Ghillie Suit they would have been dead if they went on any missions without it.

Having said that, military personnel and snipers live by their Ghillie Suits in order to accomplish their missions and go by undetected.  Ghillie Suits are a military instrument, and were first used by the Lovat Scouts, a Scottish Highland regiment formed by the British Army during the Second Boer War, it is the first known military unit to use Ghillie Suits. In 1916, Lovat Scouts went on to become the British Army’s first sniper unit. They were used then to creep into enemy territory as they provided instant invisibility, and Ghillie Suits still provide that stealth invisibility that the Ghillie Suit was always designed and used for. Today’s top military personnel and stealth snipers take their Ghillie Suits very seriously, often making their Ghillie Suits. They create their own Ghillie Suits, because this way they ensure that their suits match the wildlife, and environmental conditions that they will be fighting in. To maximize the effectiveness of your Ghillie Suit, using items from the environment will ensure your suit blends into that surrounding completely. The need to carry ammo, water and other necessities, the Ghillie Suit usually has pockets in the inside or are inserted, because if pockets were on the outside, they would get damaged. The Ghillie Suit is a proven tool, as snipers will tell you that they have come within feet on their target without ever being noticed! Click Here to learn How to Make a Ghillie Suit

As the Ghillie Suit was first used by the Scottish for hunting, its without a question if hunters want to be successful, they need a Ghillie Suit to blend into their surrounding environment. As no hunting environment is the same, Ghillie Suits come in a variety of colors such as a Desert Ghillie Suit, Mossy Ghillie Suit, Woodland Ghillie Suit, and Timber Ghillie Suit. Covering your human scent with mud and manure will add to the effectiveness of Ghillie Suit and you will go undetectable by wildlife. Safety is always important, in some states, laws enforce that hunters wear certain colors such as bright orange. If this may be the case for you, the Ghillie Suit may not be appropriate for you. Though if you are allowed to use a Ghillie Suit in your state, ask any seasoned hunter and tell would tell you that the Ghillie Suit will significantly improve your hunting results!

Hunting, military personnel, and snipers lives depend on the Ghillie Suit, but that may not be the same for the game of paintball.  Nevertheless, avid and serious fans of the sport swear by their Ghillie Suits.  To a paintball enthusiast, the Ghillie Suit may mean the difference between winning and losing.  Unlike Ghillie Suits requirements for snipers and hunters, these requirements for paintball enthusiast will be different. Ghillie Suits come in all different weights and appropriately enough, a paintballer would require a light weight, easy to maneuver and easily washable Ghillie Suit.  Ghillie Suits now exist for the paintball enthusiast who want stealth invisibility, and swift mobility.
